What to Expect
Your First Visit to Brea Family Dental Center
We know that stepping into a new dental office can bring up some nerves, and that’s completely okay. Dr. Kwok personally understands what it feels like to sit in that chair with a little uncertainty — it’s actually the reason she became a dentist. Our approach is simple: slow down, listen first, and make sure you’re comfortable before we do anything else.
Your first appointment is all about getting to know you. From a warm greeting at the front desk to a one-on-one conversation with Dr. Kwok about your oral health goals, every part of this visit is designed around you — not a clock. Expect to spend about an hour and a half to two hours with us so we can give you the thorough, unhurried attention you deserve.

A little preparation goes a long way toward making your first appointment smooth and relaxed. Here’s what to have on hand before you arrive:
- Medical and dental history: Bring a list of any current medications and relevant health conditions so we can tailor your care safely.
- Insurance information: Have your insurance card ready. We accept all major PPOs, and our team is happy to help answer any coverage questions.
- Questions and concerns: Jot down anything you’ve been wondering about — no question is too small, and Dr. Kwok loves taking the time to explain.
- Arrive a few minutes early: This gives you a chance to settle in, grab a complimentary coffee or water, and fill out any remaining paperwork without feeling rushed.
